About the Winemaker: Bodegas el Progresso is a wine co-operative. Ojos del Guadiana is a member of that co-operative. Located in the foothills of the Sierra Calderina, the vineyard is in a great spot for growing wine grapes. There are rolling hills for drainage, hot dry summers, cool winters, and low annual rainfall.
Color: Garnet
Nose: Eucalyptus, blackberry, red berries, and smoke
Taste: Eucalyptus, red apple skin, pear, red berries, raisin and oak.
Assessment: Ojos del Guadiana Tempranillo Joven is full in flavor and full in body. It has a silky texture and a tannic structure that is balanced by just the slightest bit of acidity. The tannic levels make this a dry wine, and fruity over tones add layers of complexity. This wine offers something for everyone. Ready to drink now.
Ojos del Guadiana Tempranillo Joven is a very good wine. 88 points.
Pairing recommendation: Lamb roast, Pasta, or charcuterie
