About the Winemaker: Winemaker Yuan Li created this wine with the intent of praising her family name and making a wine that celebrates some of her favorite wines of which Marsanne is one. Released through Naked Wines she has taken advantage of the opportunity to produce a wine of her own label while continuing to work as an assistant winemaker for another central coast label.
Color: Corn silk
Nose: Floral notes, ripened mango
Taste: Tropical fruit, mineral notes, a touch of citrus and green apple. Finish: Ripened Mango
Assessment: Full bodied, and quite unique. I love a white wine with a full body, and this has it. There is a lot of complexity in this bottle, but it’s lacking the focus that could make it something greater. There are few if any tannins. The acidity in the wine is overshadowed by the body. I’d like to see the mineral notes as well as the citrus and crisp fruit aspects brought to the fore front. The great deal on this wine through Nakedwines.com ($8) makes this a buy, but future vintages need some refining. Ready to drink now.
