About the Winemaker: Wine Maker Jac Cole has been making wines since the early 1980’s after earning a Master’s degree in Enology. He has worked at a variety of prestigious and celebrated wineries including Stag’s Leap, Charles Krug, Spring Mountain Vineyards, and others. Jac credits his 30 years of experience making wine in northern California and his Italian heritage in having an influence on the wine in this bottle.
Color: Champagne with a hint of Jasmine
Nose: Honey suckle, ripened mango
Taste: Honey Suckle, mineral notes, and crisp just ripened apple Finish: Lemon zest and a hint of white pepper
Assessment: Medium bodied. For those not familiar with an unoaked chardonnay, these wines are not buttery like their oaked brethren. This wine is crafted perfectly with consideration for the absence of body and butter that oak would typically infuse. It’s crisp, it’s fresh, and the acidity is just right. Winemaker Jac Cole’s skill and experience are on full display in this bottle. I will certainly buy more and look for other wines released under his name. This wine is a fair value at it’s full price of $24. However, you can take advantage of a great deal through Nakedwines.com ($15) buy using one of the offers below. Ready to drink now.
Pairing recommendation: Mild cheese, dried fruit, lobster, or pork schnitzel.
