Assessment: I’ve been hearing good things about this bourbon for some time now. I finally picked a bottle up. Word of mouth is correct; this is a solid bourbon. It has a reputation for being sweetish, perhaps it’s the caramel flavor notes, but I don’t find it to be sweet in the least. I do find it to be a rather mild bourbon in both nose and taste; what it lacks in boldness it makes up for in smoothness. It’s an easy drinker. Eagle rare will have a regular presence among my other bottles of bourbon from here on out. Now if I can just find a bottle of the antique collection version.
Eagle Rare Single Barrel Bourbon is a very good bourbon. 90 Points
